| Budget Reduction Task Force |
The Budget Reduction Task Force is a group of parents, community members, teachers, support staff and administrators who are meeting this fall to provide the Board with recommendations on budget cuts if additional funding is not made available to the school district through federal, state or local sources.
|
To identify, prioritize and recommend potential budget cuts that at least meet minimum
educational standards and will balance the budget for the next two years
In a way that:
- causes least harm to students, staff and community
- contrasts the potential budget reduction future against the existing educational experience
- assesses impact on students, teachers, staff and community including educational, social, developmental, financial and employment impact
- provides teachers, staff, parents, students and community groups the opportunity to voice their input
- fully informs the Glenview and school communities of the impact of budget reduction decisions, i.e. - class size, educational enrichment and integral educational programs
- develops internal and external communication plans highlighting an open process
- maintains the fiscally sound 30% reserve policy that allows the District to avoid short-term borrowing
- honors current employee contracts
- meets minimum federal and state requirements
So that our Board of Education can make informed budget decisions about the future learning
opportunities for District 34 children.
