Thanks for investigating the application process for substitute teaching in Glenview District 34. We’re pleased that you’re interested in working with us to promote the ongoing education of our students! We look forward to getting you started with the process. If you already hold a Professional Educator's License or a Substitute License, visit our application page and follow the prompts to complete an online application.If you need to obtain a Professional Substitute License, you may:
- Submit an application online at: https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Educator-Licensure-Application.aspx and click on Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) to create an ELIS account. Follow the prompts to create your ELIS account. Once this has been completed you should see an option to apply for the substitute license.
- A $50 fee will be assessed electronically (please have a credit card available).
- Send (or bring in person) an official, unopened transcript showing an awarded bachelor's degree to the following address:

Once substitute licensure is approved, visit our application page and follow the prompts to complete an online application.
Please know that not all who apply for substitute teaching in District 34 are contacted. Applications are screened against a set of established standards that reflect our high expectations. You may then be contacted for a phone interview. Following the phone interview you may be asked to complete the necessary documents and bring them with you to meet with a representative from Human Resources.
