Physical Education instruction is essential for all students, from kindergarten through eighth grade. A quality Health and Physical Education Program supports the physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development of students. The District 34 Physical Education program serves to develop physically literate individuals. Through our program students will develop the skills needed to support lifelong physical activity, and learn how to utilize nutrition to meet their physical wellness goals.

  • A physically literate individual understands that lifelong fitness will help in the prevention of diseases such as obesity, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

  • Regular physical activity enhances various aspects of brain activity that affect academic performance, including learning, memory, concentration, and mood.

  • Engaging students in moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) in P.E. prepares them to lead physically active lives and can improve health and academic outcomes.
