A student must be absent for at least 2 days before requesting that homework be gathered by the Health Office. Students can utilize the team websites, contact a “homework buddy,” or use the other methods teachers have identified to access homework information to find out about missed assignments for an absence of fewer than 2 days. Upon returning to school, the student should check in with teachers.
Homework requests for two days or more absences should be submitted to the Health Office by 10:00 a.m. on the day it will be picked up. Teachers will determine appropriate due dates for these assignments and will offer students an opportunity to seek extra help before and after school when they return. The homework may be picked up from the Main Office between 3:15 and 4:30 p.m. Since many teachers send assignments electronically for students to access on their IPads, parents are advised to call the office before coming in to see if any paperwork or textbooks has been brought down to the office.
For a week or more planned absence: a request must be submitted at least a week before the homework is needed. Parents should be aware that not all schoolwork may be made up independently; students may need to meet with teachers before or after school for additional “catch-up,” to take missed tests/quizzes, or to do project work.
For any long-term absence due to illness (at least 10 days), homebound instruction may be arranged through the Student Services Administrator.
