Q: What do I need to do if I want to pick my child up before the dismissal bell rings?
- If you need to take your child out of school before the end of the school day, please make sure to sign him/her out in our front office. If your child returns to school after an appointment, please make sure to sign him/her back in.
- If your child normally takes the bus, but there is occasion that you need to pick him/her up at school, instead, please phone or email your child’s teacher to let him/her know as early in the day as you possibly can. Ideally, we’d like to have this information by 2:00 pm at the very latest.
- If you need to change after school pick-up arrangements for your child, please call our office before 2:00 PM to inform us of the changes. There is a lot going on in a school office both at the beginning and the end of the school day. By calling before 2:00 pm, you are giving the front office staff the time needed to communicate the message to classroom teachers regarding this change. Locating a child at dismissal puts much stress on the office and supervisory staff as they frantically attempt to locate a child who may already be on a bus or pulling off the lot in the bus. This also almost always results in delayed bus departures that affect not only the Glen Grove routes but the routes of other schools, waiting to use these same buses for their routes, as well.
