We know that our health and safety protocols mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in our schools. District 34, as well as the other elementary districts in Northfield Township, can report that contact tracing has shown no cases of spread within schools (all positive cases have come from community spread).
In particular, the 3 Ws are key to keeping healthy. We will continue to encourage all students, staff and families to practice them in and out of school:
- Wear a Mask
- Wash Your Hands
- Watch Your Distance
Quarantine Question: Still Out of Town?
District 34 will continue to follow the guidance of the Illinois Department of Public Health and Cook County Department of Public Health. Both health agencies maintain that a 14-day quarantine upon return from travel of any kind is the "gold standard" -- the best protection for individuals and our community from the spread of COVID-19. District 34 will continue to enforce the 14-day quarantine for travel, as well as for individuals who have been close contacts with those who have tested positive for COVID-19.
So, if your family did not return to Glenview from holiday travel and begin your quarantine on or before January 4, please contact your health office to determine the date that your child will return to in-person learning.
The daily self-assessment that you'll get back into the habit of completing (with helpful reminders if you want them!) will reflect that time frame. Early childhood-5th grade students who quarantine due to non-essential travel will have full access to all learning materials and asynchronous lessons. Middle school students will continue to have the option to live stream when at home in quarantine.
We will continue to monitor changes in health agency recommendations, and will communicate any updates to our procedures.
Additional Q&A can be found on our Health & Safety Protocols page.
Tested Positive or Close Contact Over Break?
If your child tested positive for COVID-19 or was exposed to a positive case over winter break, please contact your school's health office as soon as possible to determine when your child will be able to return to school for in-person learning.
Self Assessment Returns on Jan. 19

Then, you can bookmark the page -- and even add it as an icon on your home screen, just like an app! Here's how it works on an iPhone:
- Open Powerschool for Parents in your phone's web browser
- Click the "arrow up" button at the bottom of the screen
- Select "add to home page"
