We’ve all become one with our devices. This talk for parents informs audiences about the latest research on kids growing up and helps them to appropriately support young people as they encounter and master these digital/social skills.

Devorah Heitner, PhD, an expert on young people’s relationships with digital media and technology and author of Screenwise, explains the importance of “mentoring over monitoring” when it comes to kids’ tech use and gives advice on how to encourage a healthy relationship with media and technology. Her forthcoming book, Growing Up in Public, is a guide to navigating reputation, privacy, and boundaries with our kids who are growing up in a world where it feels like everyone is watching.
