COVID-19 Case Dashboard
District 34 has developed a dashboard that shares a summary of COVID-19-related positive cases. The information will comply with all privacy regulations. Anyone who has been in close contact with a positive case will be notified.
A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has been tested and received a report confirming that they have the virus. These individuals will be isolated for a minimum of 10 days and upon meeting the criteria set on our Illness & Diagnosis Monitoring page, can return to school. Data for exposures identifies individuals who have not tested positive, but have been identified as being in close contact with someone (inside or outside of school) who tested positive through contact tracing, by self-reported interaction, or through our self-certification and screening process. A close contact is anyone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period, starting from 2 days before illness onset. Under the CDC definition, for example, an individual exposed to COVID-19 for only 5 minutes but three different times within a 24-hour period (perhaps spanning two school days) now falls under the definition of a “close contact.” Individuals who have been identified as close contacts are instructed to quarantine for 14 days after the last day of contact with the person who is COVID-19 positive to monitor for symptoms. A probable case is a student or staff member who has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing COVID symptoms, but has not been tested for the virus.

Northfield Township Elementary School Districts continue to monitor the following metrics along with COVID-19 quarantine and case information within our schools. Metric designations are based on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Adaptive Pause Guidance, which has been adapted for township-wide data.
Trend data will be monitored by Northfield Township elementary districts. If metrics trend up or reach substantial levels, guidance will be sought from the Cook County Department of Public Health regarding shifting instructional models.
