Teaching & Learning
The Department of Teaching and Learning directly supports the goals of the District 34 Strategic Plan, which focus on maximizing student growth and ensuring the most effective instruction for every student, every day.
In all disciplines, we provide rigorous curriculum aligned to the Illinois State Learning Standards. Regular use of assessment practices, both during and after learning, provides essential feedback for students supporting their individual growth. Differentiated instruction and high levels of student engagement further support students’ academic success. Students learn and apply the necessary skills and dispositions to become self-directed learners and engaged participants in the learning process.
