Explore Kindergarten in D34!
Kindergarten in District 34 empowers learning through an equitable, inclusive and nurturing environment focusing on the whole child, allowing for a balance of social-emotional development and academic growth.
In the fall of 2022, we opened our new kindergarten spaces at Henking, Lyon and Westbrook, adding to the collaborative, positive, supportive learning environment for our youngest learners, and providing the option for students to attend for an extended (full) day. Since that time, our community has seen the impact of the spaces, and the ability to have more time for:
- Learning through play
- Relationships and community building
- Enriching academic experiences
- Family partnerships
We know that the 2024-2025 kindergarteners will have a great year as well! Families can again choose to extend their child's day to a full-day experience with additional academic and social-emotional programming, with time for lunch and play. Families also have the option to choose a half-day program.
The fee for the full-day kindergarten experience is $3,300 before the early registration deadline of June 1, 2024 ($3,600 after June 1). The fee for half-day kindergarten is $152 before June 1 and $252 after June 1.
Full-Day Kindergarten Offers More Time For:
Learning through play
Relationships and community building
Enriching academic experiences
Strong partnerships with families
First Day of School for all 2024-2025 Kindergarteners: August 22

Thank You, Glenview!
On March 17, 2020, the community approved a capital (facilities) referendum that allowed District 34 to offer an extended kindergarten opportunity beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. This positive impact will be felt for generations. The District appreciates the support of the community, and we recognize that we are tasked with Building Future for decades to come.
