Registration & Fees
In 2022-2023, District 34 will welcome the first full-day kindergarten students to our schools. FDK is a fee-based program. Families also can choose to register their child for half-day kindergarten (at the annual student fee of $127).
The structure for half-day kindergarten will be determined by the number of students enrolled. So, we encourage everyone to register as early as possible so that we can make decisions about half-day kindergarten (such as location, staffing, etc.) and communicate them. We hope to have that information in late winter/early spring.
The FDK fee is $3,600, set in an initial payment of $360 (10%) and nine monthly payments of $360.
Monthly payments will be set in e~Funds for Schools, the District’s payment processor. The first monthly payment after the deposit will be due by September 1, 2022. You will have the option of making those monthly payments, or you can pay multiple installments at any time.
The fee for half-day kindergarten is $127.
Fee Waivers & Reduced Fees
Families who need financial assistance can apply for an income-based fee waiver for FDK. Families who receive state financial assistance do not have to complete the waiver and will be notified by the District within a few days of submitting registration.
Those who apply for the waiver must provide proof of income to be considered for free or reduced FDK fees. The reduced fee is $580. The criteria for receiving a fee waiver are the same as the National School Lunch Program.
