Health Information

Our trained and caring health office staff provides quality care to the children in District 34 schools. The District employs health aides and registered nurses who are available to provide needed first aid, address student health issues and support student health plans. 

Vision/Hearing Services

Vision and Hearing Services are mandated by the State of Illinois and a screening program is in place within the district.

Annual screenings are done on the following schedule:

Hearing: Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade

Vision: Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd, and 8th grade

If a student does not pass the vision or hearing screening, we send a notice home to the parent(s) recommending that the child be seen by a doctor.  This does not mean your child would definitely need glasses or has any hearing problems.  These are just screenings.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the vision or hearing of a student, please contact the Health Coordinator at your home school.
