Vision

District 34 will be an inclusive, equitable school system that provides comprehensive, authentic learning experiences to develop the whole child.

Objective 1: Each school year, students will experience an increase in feelings of safety and belonging.	Measures: Panorama SEL benchmark assessment for all grades (How supported students feel through their relationships with friends, family, and adults at school) for all students and student groups (EL, race, gender, low income, IEP) 5Essentials Student Survey (grades 4-8) ISBE’s Equity Journey Continuum growth year to year Student participation in school-related clubs and activities, and in before- and after-school programming with community partners in our schools Student behavior data
Objective 2: Each school year, families will report an increase in sense of belonging as a member of the District 34 community. Collaboration & Community

Strong teams and partnerships enhance educational experiences to support growth and success.

Strategies: Strengthen partnerships within and between district schools, and with local public agencies, school districts and organizations to create support systems and authentic learning opportunities Develop partnerships with experts to increase equity and inclusivity Increase input and engagement opportunities for families and community, especially for those that have been underrepresented Build connections among District-aligned family organizations and enhance learning opportunities for families Increase community connection by sharing the positive stories of staff, students and families
Objective 1: Each school year, District 34 will increase community/organization partnerships to support targeted areas.	Measures: Number of partnerships and programs that support key target areas (mental health and well-being, equity and inclusion, before- and after-school activities and programs for students) Attendance at family education programs
Objective 2: Each school year, District 34 will increase programs, partnerships and activities between schools and family groups.
